Dentsply Sirona Omnicam Review

 

With a reputable history of CADCAM dentistry , the Omnicam is first DIOS in a full colour version and arguably one of the fastest scanners on offer.

The AF unit comprises a PC and desktop scanner unit and screen.

 

The AC Cart comprises a Touch Screen Cart and Scanner.

It has been in the market since 2013 but with newer software udates, the capabilities of the scanner have been greatly improved and is still offered by Dentsply Sirona as an option due to its ease of use and effectiveness
It is paired to full cerec design and milling chairside or a standalone scanner.
It is one of 3 scanners together with the itero and Trios to integrate directly with Invisalign. The CEREC Omnicam has the smallest scanner head and weighs approximately 315 grams.
It is therefore the easiest DIOS to use in the posterior regions of the mouth and in difficult small access situations.
CEREC workflow is the most reliable and efficient of all other systems.
It offers clever additions like having the remaining milling time on the cart while the mill can be in any other room and has a very easy step by step workflow to ensure consistency and repeatability. The software offers automated design and the touchscreen is an added advantage during the workflow with the new touchpad offering an easywipe and hygienic solution to scanning.
